How to Complete Cartel Protection Mission in Modern Warfare 2 (2022)

Now on with Cartel Protection, the sixth mission in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. It takes place in Mexico, and you are infiltrating a village taken over by the cartel.

Follow Alejandro Vargas through the village and eliminate all the enemies there. Use houses as cover to your advantage, there will be many narrow paths and corridors. Secure the house, eliminating anyone in your way.

After a short cutscene, leave the building and go through the next one on the opposite side of the street. The search for Hassan continues. Go upstairs and look for any signs of him. Beware of the enemies hiding behind the couch and under the coffee table. You can equip a piece of heavy machinery that's near the window. It foreshadows what's coming next.

Go through the intel and prepare for the ambush from the army. You need to take cover and hold your fire until they approach. When they get close to your position open fire and eliminate the armored enemies. Aim for the heads or explode them with a grenade launcher.

After a bit of shooting, fall back and escape from the window on the other side of the house. Run away and go towards the mountains. Eliminate any enemies there. It's good to stay mobile so get rid of any heavy machine guns you might have from the ambush.

Go down the mountain through the forest. Take cover and shoot the enemies down, the enemies are behind, make sure not to get shot in the back. Slide down the slope and head towards the river to the extraction team.

Jump and slide down the cliffs, and make sure to time it right. Watch out for snipers in the area while making your way to the river. Go straight ahead where you hear the helicopter. Shoot down anything that is moving. Jump down, and watch your footing. Jump to the right, then to the platform on the left.

Avoid the sniper attack and run toward safety. Follow Alejandro Vargas and keep going down the mountain cliffs. Now it's time for the Leap of Faith like in Assassin's Creed. Aim for the water soldier.

Swim behind your squad, and dive underwater by pressing Square on the PlayStation to avoid enemy bullets. Use rocks in the middle of the river for cover and shoot down anyone on land.

Make your way towards the bridge and wait for Commander Graves' airstrike to take down the convoy on the aforementioned bridge and the bridge itself. Go on land and follow Alejandro Vargas toward the extraction point. Get in the car and escape the enemy forces. The cutscene will play and the mission will end. Great job soldier.
