As November 2023 approaches, anticipation for the release of the highly-awaited Call of Duty game, Modern Warfare III, continues to build among gaming enthusiasts. Promising a blend of familiar and fresh experiences, Modern Warfare 3 will include all maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 (2009), while also introducing exciting new battlegrounds.
Moreover, the return of classic maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 game from 2009 is likely to evoke nostalgia among long-time fans.
As we did for the previous games, each map page will include detailed information including tactical mini-maps layout and overhead images, hardpoint locations and rotations, and points of interest. So, what are the Modern Warfare 3 maps?
COD Modern Warfare 3 Maps List Confirmed So Far (2023):
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (2023) will feature a mix of multiplayer maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 (2009), all modernized, alongside brand-new battlegrounds.
On August 16, all the classic Modern Warfare 2 maps have been officially confirmed to be available for the multiplayer modes of Modern Warfare 3 on day one. While over 12 all-new core 6v6 maps will be added to MW3 post-launch with the Seasons updates.

COD Modern Warfare 3 Large-Scale Maps:
In addition, Moder Warfare 3 will also feature 4 large-scale maps, composed of 3 brand-new Battle Maps (Ground War and Invasion) and 1 colossal War map for the War Mode that first debuted in 2017's Call of Duty: WWII.
The inclusion of maps from the original Modern Warfare games is a bold move by developers to revive cherished memories and celebrate the franchise's legacy. By revisiting iconic locations like Terminal, Scrapyard, Rust, Highrise, and Favela, players will be able to experience the rush of nostalgia while discovering how these classics have been adapted to the game's enhanced graphics and mechanics.
In addition to the MW2 maps that we listed before, we can definitely expect a selection of maps from its predecessor Modern Warfare 2 (2022) and some maps from the original Modern Warfare 3 (2011) game to appear in the 2023 Modern Warfare 3 game in the future with the Season updates. How many maps are there in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3? (2023)
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (2023) will release with 16 playable maps for the core 6v6 multiplayer modes of the game, and 4 large-scale maps, for a total of 20 multiplayer maps available at launch.
While over 12 brand-new 6v6 maps will be added to the game post-launch with the Seasons updates.
More are still left to be announced so expect a massive number of maps to be included, traditional 6v6 Core Maps, and large 32v32 Ground War maps.
Is Map Voting in Modern Warfare 3? (2023)
Yes, Activision confirmed that map voting will return in Modern Warfare 3 (2023). In MW3 players will be able to choose or skip the next map while waiting for the next game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will release on November 10, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
