These are the step-by-step instructions on how to complete Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 story mission Countdown:

Achievement / Trophy Warning: To earn the "Must be Wind" achievement you need to rescue the hostages without the enemies firing their weapons.

How to Complete Countdown Mission in Modern Warfare 2 (2022)

The Final mission of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2022) named Countdown starts on the roof of a skyscraper in Chicago. You and Captain Price need to rescue hostages and finally find Hassan.

Follow him to the ledge of the building and Rappel down by pressing square on PlayStation or x on Xbox. Walk down the side of the building, you can press Circle to change your orientation to be upside down or normally.

Shoot the enemies through the windows but be careful not to hit any hostages and get shot down. After killing the enemies you will need to breach the window on the left if you are looking up or on the right if you are hanging upside down.

Captain Price will plant explosives so wait for it to blow up and go inside the building again. Approach the doors to the server room and infiltrate it with Captain Price. Take down all the enemies in the area.

Open another door and repeat the same process, and use servers as cover so you don't get hit by the enemy bullets. Open another door and enter the last server room. Eliminate all threats watch out for the smoke grenades.

Now breach the door to the control room and look for Hassan. He's nowhere to be seen once more. To the outside of the building once more. Wait for Captain Price to blow up the window and Rappel down again.

Navigate down the side of the building and go inside there the RPG blows up the windows. Go in and clear the party area, the lounge, or whatever that huge open room with a bar is.

After everyone is dead go down the stairs and behind the centerpiece of the room. You can always use the Touchpad on PlayStation to see the current objective and directions on how to reach the stairwell.

Wait for Captain Price to pry the door open and move downstairs to the 46th floor. Turn left and then right, and witness the missile launch. Yikes.

Go to the right of the Arch building and fight your way through the enemy units. When you clear the area approach the double brown doors and use the Snakecam on it.

After the blast, go into the elevator shaft on the left and drop down the elevators. Jump down onto Hassan inside the lowest elevator, retrieve the missile control briefcase and run away from the enemies.

You can find some more crafting materials in this area like Metal or Binding laying around the floors, desks, etc.

You need to find a safe place and open the briefcase before it hits the target. Your time is indicated by the red bar on the top of the screen. A good place to hide is a vent next to the floor marked with X. Go inside and you will also find plenty of crafting materials.

How to Save Washington DC in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2022)?

You need to hide and open the Missile Control by pressing the right trigger r2 on PlayStation, then hold both the CLR and MODE buttons at the same time (square and circle on PlayStation - x and b on Xbox).

Then look for the data in the table, column two, row three. The answer is %ESP. Select it on the d-pad to answer Laswell.

Now you need to hit left LEFT and CLR to initiate the override procedure. For the final step hit LNK (triangle on PlayStation and y on Xbox) when the red light is in the fourth circle on the screen. Make sure to time it right.

Now for the finale, you need to make yourself a weapon. Collect all of these crafting materials laying around while dodging enemies and enemy bullets.

Craft a Pry Tool by combining Metal and Binding and pry open the red toolboxes.

You can also use Metal in the microwave to distract enemies in the Countdown mission in MW2.

In one of the red toolboxes, there will be a box cutter. The second toolbox next to the receptionist's desk will have some Wax inside.

Craft a Gas Trap by combining Binding and Chemicals. Craft a Smoke Bomb by combining Binding, Wax, and Chemicals.

You need to stun enemies with Gas Traps or Smoke Bombs or by distracting them with Microwaves. Next use the Paper Cutter to kill all the soldiers.

After you kill the last one you will be ambushed by Hassan and a cutscene will start. After it plays out here is the final moment of the whole Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign (2022).

You play as Ghost on the other side of the building and you need to take down Hassan. He is in the middle window inside the building in front of you. Aim for the head and shoot!
