We often talk about amazing games, adventures, compare the new games to the old games, waiting for sequels, prequels, or just other installments in the franchise. More often than not we are forgetting about the beautiful expansions that came out to already existing games. Many people finish the main game and never come back to it. We will take a look into 5 examples of the best DLCs of the last 10 years.

5 Best DLCs of the Last 10 Years

Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone

Length: 10+ hours

It takes Geralt of Rivia on an all-new adventure. We can explore No Man’s Land and more areas around Oxenfurt. The expansion features new enemies, characters as well as a romance option. For people interested there are also new Gwent cards. You will follow the mystery of Man of Glass.

This is one of the Best DLCs in the industry, introducing so many interesting storylines, characters, and one-of-a-kind quests that you can sink into.

The Last of Us: Left Behind

Length: Between 2 and 3 hours

the last of us left behind dlc

It was the first and the last expansion to the phenomenal game The Last Of Us, but at the same time, one of the best DLCs ever made. It told us the story that was teased during the main game about Ellie and her best friend Riley. We get to see how Ellie got her scar after being bitten, we see her growing relationship with her friend and the grief after losing her. It is a short story but very emotional and perfectly fills the void after the teases of Ellie’s past in The Last Of Us.

Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep

Length: 6+ hours

Borderlands Franchise always had many expansions. Every main title in the series had 4 major story DLCs. The most memorable however is one of the best DLCs in Borderlands history. It is Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragons Keep. It tells a story of our beloved characters playing a board game called “Bunkers and Badasses” which is a parody of the popular RPG “Dungeons and Dragons”.

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls

Length: 3+ hours

Honestly, without this expansion, the default version was pretty lackluster. With the addition of Act V, the whole game became a lot better. It told a pretty decent story, added a lot of items and gameplay changes to revamp the game. It later became part of Diablo 3 itself. Now it is just Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls. You know that it is one of the best DLCs ever made when it becomes an integral part of the main game.

Witcher 3: Blood and Wine

Length: 16+ hours

You know the game is a masterpiece if you have the 5 best DLCs of the last ten years and 2 of those are expansions of the same game. It is one of the best DLCs ever made, not only in the last 10 years. This DLC similarly to Hearts of Stone introduced a big additional playable area with new quests, game mechanics, enemies, and allies. It is focused on the land of Toussaint, beautiful landscapes, filled with wine and vampires. It also adds a whole new system of mutations. Definitely, one of the best DLCs ever developed.
