PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS changed the entire gaming landscape back when it was released in 2017. Developed by Bluehole, PUBG is one of the first Battle Royale games to get mainstream attention and also paved the way for other battle royale games such as Fortnite, Apex Legends, etc.
It rose to stardom quickly after its release and, at one point, was one of the most played and watched games on Twitch. However, the game is not as huge as it was back then, and its player base has shrunk a lot in recent times.
This being said, PUBG enthusiasts still play the game, and PUBG Corp adds new content on a regular basis. A lot of new features have been added that were not present at the time of the initial release.
Changing the in-game name is one of the features that was made available later down the line. Although very easy to do, many might not be familiar with how to do so. Here is a guide explaining how to change the name in PUBG PC and Mobile.
How to Change Name in PUBG PC:
To change your in-game name in PUBG, you'll need a "Nickname Change" card.
Keep in mind that this card is not free and will cost players 9.99USD.
- To buy the card, simply head over to the store and then to the items section.
- Click on the ''others" option available on the screen, and you'll directly be taken to the section containing the Nickname Change card.
- Once you have bought the card, head over to Customize section from the main menu and then to the Utility section.
- Finally, select the "etc" option and use the Nickname Change card available there.
You can only use the card once and will need to buy more if you want to change your name again in the future.
How to Change Name in PUBG Mobile:
Apart from being very successful on the PC version, PUBG has also managed to conquer the mobile genre. It is one of the most played games on mobile devices and also has a huge esports scene. Despite the game not being much popular on PC anymore, it is still going strong on mobile devices.
Similar to the PC version of the game, to change your name, you'll need a "Rename Card."
However, unlike the PC version, there are several ways of acquiring the card.
Both the free and paid version of the game's Royale Pass usually contain Rename Card. The daily login bonus, which generally runs weekly, has also given players Rename Cards in the past.
Players can also directly buy the Rename Card from the store for 180 UC(in-game cash).
However, it's better to wait and acquire the card using free-to-play methods rather than spending cash. Once you have the card, it can be found in the Inventory section of the game. You can only use this card once, so be careful when changing the name.
