Assassin's Creed Valhalla: How to get the best ending

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla continues on the trend from previous entries in the series of having multiple endings.

During the game, Eivor is given five choices that will affect the ending. These are the Sigurd Strikes. If you make three or more choices that go against Sigurd, then at the end Sigurd will leave the Raven Clan and go back to Norway. However, if you make three or more choices in support of Sigurd, then he’ll stay with the clan at Ravensthorpe in England.

Read on with you want to know the choices to make for the best ending and as always, spoilers of the game are ahead.

Cargo in Norway

Towards the end of the Norway chapter, Eivor is given the choice of taking Cargo from Fornburg or leaving it behind. If Eivor chooses to take the Cargo, it gives their settlement in England a good start but will class as a Sigurd Strike. The honorable option is leaving the Cargo behind and makes Sigurd happier.

Romancing Randvi

At some point during the story, Randvi will ask Eivor to accompany her on a joyride, away from her role at Ravensthorpe. The quest ‘Taken for Granted’ will start which takes the pair to Grantbridge. There, Eivor and Randvi are tasked to help the town with a bandit problem.

After completing all the tasks, the duo travel to the Sunken Tower. There, Randvi expresses her love for Eivor. If Eivor feels the same way, this counts as a Sigurd Strike and can negatively affect the ending.

If Eivor expresses they ‘care for you as a friend’ then Eivor will not be betraying Sigurd and is the only honorable choice in this interaction. If you want to romance Randvi at all, wait till the end of the game. You will be able to then without upsetting Sigurd.

Who to punch?

During the Oxenfordscire arc, Eivor gets into a heated argument with Sigurd and Basim. During the argument, Eivor is given dialogue options of “Take Breath”,”Punch Basim”,”Enough of This” and “Punch Sigurd”.

If Eivor punches either Sigurd or Basim then that counts as a Sigurd Strike. Punching neither is the honorable choice.

Does Dag deserve his ‘Valhalla’?

After the Cent Arc, Dag will approach Eivor, angry with the way Eivor has been assuming the role of Jarl in Ravensthorpe in Sigurd’s’ absence and not doing enough to bring Sigurd back. Dag will challenge Eivor to a duel and the latter will ultimately prevail.

After defeating Dag, Eivor will be given two choices, “Give Dag His Axe” or “Deny Dag His Axe”. Denying Dag his axe will class as a Sigurd Choice. The best option is sending him to his Valhalla, axe in hand.

Do you support Sigurd in Assassin's Creed Valhalla?

Once the Suthsexe and Essexe arcs have finished, Sigurd returns to his role as Jarl at Ravensthorpe. During a cutscene, Eivor is attempting to solve a dispute between two people. Sigurd will interrupt saying he will make the decision and casts his judgment.

If you disagree with Sigurd’s judgment, this will class as a Sigurd Strike. The best dialogue option to choose is “I support Sigurd’s Judgement”.

Whichever route you go down, during the mission “A Brother’s Keeper” a cutscene will play out between Sigurd and Eivor, addressing all the choices Eivor made. Here, Sigurd will let Eivor know whether he will stay in Norway or come back to England with him.
